First night apprenticing with my guitar tech buddy
...last night.
Fabricated and installed new bone nuts in three guitars. Made $60 (one didn't pay, since it was my own guitar), and went drinkin. The faster I get, I more money I'll make, since I'm getting paid by the piece. All in all, I'd call it a win. |

![]() i had a bone one popped into my statocaster last year, the original one was plastic, i had it replace with a graphtec one but the dumb fucker put a black one in without asking me first if that would be ok, made the guitar look like crap and it fell out when i took the strings off when i needed to change them, so i had a bone one put in for me €20 ,does your buddy do the buzz fenton system?? i have that on a garrison acoustic, id like it on all my guitars now !

theres no plek machines here as far as i know, there is one in chandlers in london, i think it costs about £150 to have a guitar plekd by them and have the buzz system done, if i ever buy a 335 id like to have it done on it
(are you listening tbs)

http://www.dv247.com/guitars/gibson-...eaburst--62021 we've got a couple of 335 'dots' in the shop here and i really like them a lot. thick rich tone and nice to play, exactly what you want from a semi-acoustic. if the epiphone versions are even half as nice then they represent superb value for money. |

The other luthier that works with the guy that does my accoustics, was doinga fret job on a 1969 tele, the guy did not want to have the original lacquer on the fret board cracked durning the replacemnet of all fret. Jeff told me he worked 30 hours on the job and it was not cheap. Each day seems a bit different too. Kinda cool wok if you ask me. I just had the first 7 money maker frets replaced on my Martin MC 28, it plays like butter again, more volume and longer sustain too. |
