NGD - Squier Classic Vibe Tele!

It's HEYEAR!

Ok, so it is NOT MIA quality. But it is far beyond MIM quality.

MIMs are in trouble, no kidding.

Mine has a little tiny dent on the front, a slightly tinkly 12th fret on the high E, and the 1st fret has an edge that will catch the high E string.

The pickups are outstanding. Probably not as good as buotique, but damn good! Not overly powerful, but very toneful.

You can play mid gain just by rolling off the treble a little bit. The neck pickup is better than the bridge pup. But the bridge pup is good, so it's all good!

No way would I change these pups, and I would buy a set to put in other guitars.

I much prefer the pups to what was in my Nashville Tele, even the Texas Special in the middle.

I like the pots, they are turn solidly. I'd say stiff, but you guys would think that's negative, when it's not.

The wood is beautiful, both on the neck and on the body. The finish is outstanding, both in color and application.

It weighs 7.5 lbs. My scale is a Chatillion. That's a respected name in scales, the same brand we used in the miiltary for specialized tension scales.

The neck is one piece, no fingerboard. The neck is thin. Thinner than I like. I much prefer the fullness of my SX Ash necks. These frets are smaller than the SXs even the ashes. They're nice.

The neck plate is laser engraved with Squier. Very nice.

For $225 delivered, after the live.com cashback, it's a great deal. For the street price of $299 it's still recommended.

Damn, now I gotta go buy the strat.

Me too but I already have enough guitars that don't get much play time - including a Baja Tele and an MIM Tele.

If the fit and finish is as good as the CV Duo Sonic I picked up, you'll love it. Light as all get yet still sounds fullbodied due to the alcino Vs in it.

HNGD to dcindc. One of those tele's is next on my list one of these days.

I've got a VM Thinline Tele.

It's mod'd though, so no direct comparison, but I'd still put the CV Tele ahead.

I've been on the fence about these, mostly because I've been afraid the neck might be too thin. I like 'em chunky.

So it's not as chunky as an SX? Perhaps thats the direction I should go.

Is the SX Ash the chunkiest/fattest of the SX brand?

They vary but the fattest SX neck I've got on a Fender type came on a Strat style with P90s. But the SX Strat and Tele necks are interchangeable.

So I have been wanting to pull the trigger on one of these for a long time. I still haven't gotten to try one, thought the Guitar Center I work at is supposed to be getting them in soon.

I told you that the mexican line should watch the hell out. I see no reason to buy a mexican strat or tele right now.
