How do the Yorkville TX4's compare?
say to other speakers in the $1000 range? Clarity definitely matters in a comparison as well as a small size. A little heavier than other single 15s but i can live with that if the clarity justifies itself.

It's a nice box. I understand using the processor is highly suggested (Another $500 bucks). I also believe the box is biamp only (no passive xover included).
You may want to consider the u15 if clarity is a priority. I understand these boxes shine in that aspect. I use Elite's EF508's that are based on the TX boxes and have been very happy with them. Another suggestion is the JBL SRX715. It's a lighter box, sounds great, is biamp/passive switchable and is in the general price range. |

The TX series speakers need to be used with the processors since the cabinet protection is built-in to these instead of in the speaker's crossover. In the case of the TX4, the components are the same as in the EF508, now replaced by the E152. The TX series is Yorkville's concert line meant to compete with Turbosound, EAW etc... Some of the cabinets are similar to models in the Elite line but have certain features (dedicated active processors) and lack certain features (like stand mounting) that make them more suited for use in concert systems than in weekend warrior applications. I have had 0 issues using the TX series with no processor. You just need to know what your doing with the crossover.
