Zoom Driver 5000 vs. Zoom Tri-Metal
Ok, I now have the option to buy both of these pedals (but without being able to try either
).I want a pedal for high-gain sounds, that will be used into the front end of many different amps (I don't have a car, so end up using others amps at gigs.. I need to add some stability to my sound! Using others amps meant I was trying to find 'my' sound on a different amp every night) Which will suit me better? |

If you are looking for a certain sound, the Tri-metal is a good pick since it is a one trick pony. It has a sound that is unique but some claim it gets lost in the mix. I happen to agree with that statement.
The Driver 5000 has many more sounds and with eq, can sound quite close to the TM-01. But then there are 6 different distortion settings. Using a footswitch the 5000 can save two of your settings, so it is like having two pedals. I have both pedals, as well as the Hyperlead and the other Zoom analogs. Hope this helps - if I had to pick one, the Driver 5000 wins |

ive had the driver, for high gain sounds, its so great. add a boost in front of it, even better. eq. doesnt have a mid eq, but its great without it. not good, great.
