I don't think i follow what you are saying^
I will probably end up routing it like a tele I think it will look something like the guitar in the link on the bottom right http://www.usacustomguitars.com/index.html

If you clicked on the tdpri link you can see that some routing has to be done.
In this build the neck pup route isn't necessary. That is IF you choose to go one pup. Surface mount pups are like what they put on the early archtops before Les Paul built the log. If you don't have the skill or access to the tools the USACG body is the best way to go. BTW my fave neck came from them. Good people, exellent work.

I don't know if this will be of interest to anyone, but just in case, I'll just leave this here.
Capris Orange, swap the neck out with a Tele *DROOL*

I'm drooling too. I'll get one in white with the tele bridge & the mini 'bucker. Put a USACG neck on & I'd have a new favorite guitar. For the OP you could get this one, have pickguardian make up a p/g cut for a tele neck pup & end up paying way less than it would cost to build one. Although sometimes for DIY'ers, cost isn't the point.

Then the only question is color. Exactly why I'd go white. Work with poly paint & color is easier to change from white to anything else. Good base to start with. If they have a color you like you're almost home free. Play the thang & determine if the neck is to your liking. Even if you need to spend money on a custom neck you still will have a bunch less into it than a Fender equivalent.

I can't decide on a color
i kind of want like a surf green, or seafoam green, or daphne blue, or lake placid blue one of those colors that looks good on jaguars and such or maybe black with tourtise guard it's such a tough call

Can't get much closer than that. And for 3 bills! I've heard nothing but good about the whole GFS lineup. So if you don't like the neck & want to go one pup with custom wiring you still are under a grand. And that's having the work done! I may get one myself once the work starts coming back around. Nothing on the airplane front around here right now. Good thing I stopped drinking years ago. I'd be homeless. I know I'd get a custom USACG neck. And I'd get a different color. But you have to ask yourself why you'd build one when something already exists.

I have been looking and debating on getting something like that for awhile now. And like you said, you really can't beat the ball park$300 for it with a hardcase for most of their stuff

Probably so close you wouldn't know the difference unless you put the two side by side. To me that's not the point. This is a different lineup of guitars and a bold move on the part of GFS. If they sell, great. But they may not. That makes it a potential collectable if they don't sell. If I get one I'll make sure it can go back to stock quickly. That means no paint job.

The only luxuries I can afford right now are sleeping indoors & eating on a regular basis. That's the only thing stopping me.
