Are these hazer any good?
According to the literature I read these use water base fluid?
Something I would consider a huge plus
How the output on these?

The Radiance is hands down the best hazer at its' price range. You can haze a tripple gym in under 15 minutes. For a bar band, you'll run it intermittently at minimum output. You'll probably get 5 years out of a gallon of fluid.

Sorry, I read Le Maitre and missed the Neutron SX. The Neutrons were also good machines but required more regular maintainence and DMX was optional.

Depending upon its' age and condition/price, it might be worth while.

Thanks Bill according to the owner it's was used for about a year for a weekend warrior type of band like myself. He guarantee's it works fantastic but since it's used their no warranty coverage.

Also what type of maintenance is required for optimal performance?
only downside it doesn't come wit the remote DMX controller. So it's basically you can only turn it off/on.

Two...

I own one, and happen to have the DMX remote which is very nice. I hazed a school gymnasium in about 15 minutes... it looked awesome once I turned on the lights. The nice thing, is you don't really see the smoke until you hit the lights. I've never cleaned mine yet, so I don't know what's involved with that. The haze fluid lasts forever. I got mine for $800 three years ago on e-bay. Anything less is a bargain.

15 minutes for Gymnasium pretty impressive IMO I went head and pulled the trigger for a used unit they guaranteed it. Gotta question for ya though,

When reading the manual it states when powering down it has to go into a cleansing mode before you can power the unit down.

So how long does the cleaning cycle take? it never stated a time frame,
also since the unit doesn't come with any neutronic haze fluid and the only source I found only sells it by the gallon. (which is way cheaper to buy)

Will a gallon just fit inside the unit?
or do I need to use a F style 2 litre jug?

here's the deal...

I bought the original gallon for $60 or $70 and filled the internal tank. I had fluid left over, and have never filled the internal tank since... it lasts a LONG time. BTW: it doesn't appear impressive, when the haze is comming out, but it really is. Don't think that it's not working right... it is!

The shut down process takes only a couple of minutes. BTW: I e-mailed the company listed above for the cleaning kit... no response yet.

The gallon of fluid will not fit in the machine. The machine should come with a plastic tank.

The cleaning cycle lasts about 3 minutes.

FYI update and review for Bill and TB gotta say this hazer is very impressive. did a test run in my rehearsal room took about 2 minutes to fill up with haze, since it's a pretty small room and the haze took about 2 hours to dissipate. What was really impressive was no hacking up a lung like in the past with our old Chauvet fogger. I'm a happy camper with this unit.

TB checked out your youtube video's nice rig you have
Love to use a software controller but laptops and drunks in a bar do not mix.

Who say's laptops and drunks at bars don't mix!
I used heavy duty velcro and keep mine right on top of my rack.
This way I can hook up my midi controller to my laptop and still control my rack and lights from one controller.

Lets see the last drunk we had on stage crashed and burned into our drummers e-kit and broke one of the cymbal arms off. Not to mention the huge brawl they shortly followed. I'll pass on the laptop I'm to busy swatting bar flies off the stage.
