Coil tap a Motherbucker?
Hi DIY's,
I have a Mighty Mite Motherbucker pickup that I like a lot in the bridge position of my strat. It has 3 conductors and a ground. The three wires are red & blue (currently taped/soldered together), and black (currently position 1 on the strat 5-way switch). Ground of course goes to shell of volume pot. Can I coil tap this pickup? What goes to what? I will be using a Fender version of the Stew-Mac E-switch that automaticallly shuts off one coil of the bucker when you go to position two. Thanks! |

Remove the tape from the two wires soldered together, then add a switch from that connection to ground
