Meet my Gran, tomorrow she turns 88,...

She's awesome!!

Today I spotted her walking outside (while it was starting to rain). She lives in a little house on her own and does everything herself. She cooks a full meal everyday and does her own shopping.

I stopped my car and asked her what she was doing outside in the rain. She told me she had to buy a birthdaycake for tomorrow. I told her to go back in and that I will bring her a cake 8 'o' clock tomorrowmorning and asked her if she needed any other groceries.

We take her out regularly and I visit her two times at least each week to talk with her and have fun.

When we take her out we usually put her in a wheelchair eventhough her knees are just two years old - she had them replaced by robocop ones.

My gran raised me until I left home because my mum and dad were always working. She's my second mum - it feels like I have two mums.

Skipper loves her and starts cheering when I tell him we are going to my gran. She's his greatGrandMother.

My mum , my sis and my gran are three terrorists. They do Evel Knievel stuff every time.

Watch this and don't forget it's an 87 year old chick in that wheelchair and not a stuntman,...you can hear my mum laugh on the background(and hear my sis and gran giggle too sofly).....

Happy birthday Granny!! I'll be with you the whole day tomorrow!

'GELUKKIGE VEERJAADAG' from 'Lukken'
Boosh, is that even close? my 'Dutch' sucks big time...But my heart is there.

My Grandad turned 97 a couple days ago. Said he doesn't really feel much different than when he was 60. He gets weak easy and can't hear for shit, but he's a trooper. He'll more than likely outlive us all. He's like that.

Aside from the fact my Mom has tried everything she can to put his ass in an early grave...she so far hasn't succeeded. I predict karma will get her when it counts. And I can bet she won't let me anywhere near poa when she gets old.

Long story short: she stuck his ass in a nursing home because she didn't want to deal with him. I was never even considered in any decisions regarding his care. His daughters (My Mom and Aunt) don't even like him. I'm the only one who really cares about him.

A few months after sticking him in the nursing home...they took out his phone so he couldn't call them. Guess who that hurt the most?

You know how hard it is to call your Grandad when he's in another state in a nursing home without his own phone in his room? I called him on his birthday and had to wait for the staff to get him up to the nurses station and then attempt to have a conversation with him. Like I said, he doesn't hear well at all and trying to talk to him with all the activity in the background was almost impossible.

Needless to say, I'm still fucking pissed. Thanks for letting me vent.

It's actually "gelukkige verjaardag" but GELUKKIGE VEERJAADAG' is close enough for the Dutch to understand And yeah, wishing you a gelukkige verjaardag, oma!

Gelukkige we use for x-mas "Gelukkig kerstfeest"

It's true that we would understand it though.

Thanks Luke!

We're just looney tunes. She just called me to tell me to take a package of cigarettes. She doesn't smoke but someone who comes to visit her might so she needs cigarettes. And don't forget the cake!! She said,....Gheez,..I'm not the 88 year old Gran,... I don't forget,...

Happy B-Day and congrats to your granny. Man, she's young! Mine's 105.

Okay, so my grandma left us in 2000. But she did live to the ripe ol' age of 95.

That's a good idea, Booshy! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I was planning on calling the local carrier where he's at and getting his phone put back in, but I can just buy a cell and send it to him.

Thanks for helping me see the obvious, Booshy. Obviously my rage is preventing me from thinking clearly.

Got it, thanks Boosh...and just remember, just a peck on the the cheek from me..
anything more than that will result in trouble and she'll be feeling the 'Lukken Mojo' even by proxy.
..she'll insist on booking passage to 'the States' and after landing,
and she'll be chasing me down 1-95 in her wheelchair.

It's my curse, older women adore me...Eleanor Roosevelt sent me steamy love letters, Gina Lollabridgida threaten to commit suicide after I dumped her for Leslie Caron,
Jackie Kennedy died with my name on her lips...

you are absolutely right!
Here, things are different...One time when I was about 10 and my brother was 12 we went to visit my grannie on my Moms side, we called her 'Babci', she was of Polish and Alsatian descent.
My brother said...'did you kiss Baci Goodbye?'
I said 'yeah, for sure'
He asked 'did she slip you a little tongue when she kissed you?'

I said 'HELL NO'
He smiled and said...'Maybe when you get older, you'll get Lucky too'.

Happy B'Day to your Gran. My Dad is 93, lives by himself since my Mom passed 4 years ago. Just came home from summer at the shore house; he was pissed this year because he couldn't ride his bike; crashed on some sand last year and broke his shoulder and this year he sprained his ankle doing yard work. Still drives around town at a pace that drives me crazy as it has since the 60's.

Hope I have his longevity genes.
