Tribute bands first show

Ive been rehearsing with a tribute to the band Muse for about 3 months and we are finally ready for our first show. The band is very good. We play each song exactly like the recording and are a 3 piece like the band muse.
We use backing tracks , IEM's , Midi switching for our FX, everyone sings and we have V drums and no amps on stage.

Here is the email I received today from the band leader.

Hey Mike,

I've been looking for places to play in December; a lot of them are
booked already, but there's a place called the Dakota Bar in Montreal
(metro station Rosemont) which is still available and would fit the
bill nicely.

Since we'd be playing a rather short set for our first "warmup" show,
I thought it would be a good idea to have our cover band join in to
the event as well. Dates I'm looking at would be either Thursday the
17th or Friday the 18th. Let me know if you have a preference; I know
I can probably bring a few more people on a Thursday vs. a Friday, but
I want to get input from everyone.

Get back to me, and I will be making the reservation shortly.

Leo

My first impression of this bar having looked at the picture gallery of some of their "events" is that this place sucks balls.

I just recently moved tothe big city from a small town and am used to playing on stages at bars that don't look like rented confrence rooms. Is this about as good as I should expect to play or would it be a wise decision to wait and book a better place?

Looks like a good place to play - they have a big enough stage for a full band and there's a crowd. If they pay you then Go For It!

First off, salut fellow quebecer!

About that room: looks alright! There's even a crowd! I say go for it, go for as much gigs as possible.

And btw, my band is trying to pull off "Hysteria". Our bass player is still struggling, though...
