Heheh, wow, that made my jaw drop slightly. I think Grace's voice is GORGEOUS...sure, she can use it in a rough, less than traditionally attractive or pleasant way, but it's beautiful I think. But hey, we all want what we don't have. I see her voice as the sports car of voices and mine as a push bike. lol
Slightly off topic, I'm getting quite hopeful about my voice maybe being able to be a bit more interesting...like these 2 newish songs that are around and that I really like...particularly the La Roux one...I could sing like that, I know, with no problems at all. And I don't mean I want to sound like La Roux, but...some people are like "Oh my god, her voice is so high!" and blah. To me it's not. *shrug* And Beth Ditto...I love that song too and could sing like that...so maybe there's hope for my higher less "cool" (to me anyway) voice actually someday getting somewhere. I'm growing more and more anxious to actually BE this stuff though. Meaning, I don't just want to sit back and be interested and inspired by new and not boring singers...I want to BE one of those inspiring singers. Whoops. Forgot the clips! lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ1Mi77nogQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU3VbMGIZeE

Ok, here it is again, this time with instrumental backing, but meh. I'm still not 100% happy with it. But I don't think I can do any better right now, so here it is.

F**k it. For some reason it won't load properly. Does anyone know what it means and how to fix it when Soundclick says "Blocked (Code 1)!" ?

to many songs.
Grace I dusted off the vocal cord over the weekend. I have designs to work on a phantom of the opera song for you. Needed a few days just to stretch the cords back out. Haven't done much singing the last few years as I no longer front a band. Should be up today or tommorow. |

Heheh, cool!! I look forward to that.
Too many songs, is that really it? Good, then I’ll get rid of some. I know there are some duplicates I never intended to be there that don’t even work I think, so they can go. Phantom of the Opera, eh? Yesterday I tried doing that actual song, but…uh, not yet. The end high notes are too much for me right now. I can do ‘em and even do the highest one right at the end, but my THROAT! It’s so closed off and my larynx feels like it’s sitting in the roof of my mouth! So it doesn’t sound the best. It’s not screechy or squeaky, it’s just…strained. So that will have to wait.

Actually do phantom of the opera itself. Not today. Well I was going to do music of the night for you.Thats a pretty challenging piece in its own right. Even tougher when your playing the lead with blocking and chorgraphy to go with it. I haven't done anything at this level in 10+ years. Let me get this one under my belt and then I will work on the title song. |

Eek, unique!? I don't think it's that unique! lol Thanks though. *blush*
lol, I just listened to the recording for the first time (didn't listen to it back when I did it, stupidly), and love that BLIP noise right at the start. Not sure what happened there, heheh.

To explain my earlier remark regarding your voice, I like it because it feels timeless. Not sure how to further qualify that.

And another...Beautiful Child by Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks)...sorry for the really hazy quality of the piano part. I tried to find the "karaoke" version on Youtube and this was the only one.
I just listened to these 2 (I must start doing that before I post them, dammit!), and do they sound any clearer than the other ones? I tried something slightly different...

LMAO, I can't hear any anticipation, man!!! I hear me sounding like a little girl, but the songs are nice enough that it sort of doesn't matter. Heheh. How's your song coming along, eh?
