Not too sure what everyone here means by "the comic was serious" BS?!? WTF. Some people died in the comic and were shown getting shot, blown up, etc... that's about it.

I have the entire comic series (from years ago) and it very closely followed the toy line and even the TV series (to a lesser degree). Every time a new toy (vehicle, figure, etc.) was release it was almost always incorporated into the comic. Even the cheazy Serpentor story line was incorporated into the comic as well as the TV series.

Yes, there were some differences such as Cobra Island, One-Eyed Billy the Commander's son, Destro's African American son, etc. in the comic, but the plot was very, very similar. Methinks this thread, like many a other HCAF thread, is yet again filled of the sour mead.

Carry on....

The casting department fucked things up. There are several horrible casting moves. It will suck.

I didn't see cobra commander in it. Do you mean Destro, played by Chistopher Eccleston (Doctor Who)?

It looks as if they stole a page from Heinleins Starship Troopers (The absolutely killer book not the epic failure of a movie) with the powered armored suits.

For those who grew up watching the cartoons (like yours truly) would be surprised to see a few familiar faces, since this is going to be based on the original comics.

If this came out before Transformers, sure. But it's not gonna be that memorable imo. Such a shame, there's potential for G.I. Joe to be great, but this trailer alone is not getting me excited like Transformers did.

When it comes to filmatisations like this, Hollywood always fails:

Take, for example, Transformers:

Ironhide, as I remember him from my childhood.

Campy, cubical robot with a chestplate that was made out of a fucking cheap van’s windshield.

Ironhide, Hollywood-style:

WTF!!!???? ....Seriously.... WTF!!!!???

G.I. Joe and its ambiguously gay characters sucked ass even in the 1980’s. I expect the movie version to be nothing but totally horrendous flop. If we’re lucky it has some camp value like Street Fighter the movie had…. However, I doubt it.

all have thier own series...either way the comic books were bloody where as the cartoon no one ever died...they would jump out of planes when the plane would blow up..etc

looks like shit.

overdone CGI, some of the scenes looked like cutscenes from crysis.
I can't watch action movies any longer, it's the same hysterical cgi crap all the time.
