It occurred to me, that the "Sticky: Is your recording/mix any good? Find out here!"-thread might be treated as a link to a sort of sub-forum, wherein each person's submitted works could be a "thread/topic" of its own.

If this is possible, it might make for a much more organized way to post submissions and discussions. And getting through them all would most definitely be much easier!

Well? Waddya think?

+1 I was thinking about this. It could get pretty messy trying to keep up with everyones posts and replys in one tread.

It sure can.

Hey all...it may seem a bit messy, and I do understand your perspective...But if this helps any....this 'style' and 'method' has a long track record of being successful...more than once!

This isn't the first run through...!

P&B,

Oh, I know; we've got several MONSTROUSLY HUGE threads of this type, over on the Music Player Guitar Player Forum. Some have been "retired", and new ones swelled...

I'm certainly not criticizing anyone or anyplace, I just thought that it could be a good way to organize these things and make it more convenient and efficient.

Actually folks, we are considering something along those very lines... I don't have all the details ready for you yet, but I should within the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, please feel free to use the existing thread. :)

How would this *sub-forum* be maintained? It might as well be another forum. If people had their own place to keep their music files, and the moderator didn't have to spent too much effort on it, a top post with a list of URLs might work. But, then it has to be updated. And, someone might want to pull their link, or change it. I dunno... The current method doesn't require intervention. And, it is chronolgically listed.

Thanks for the input, Phil!

Kinda like the professor in Rocky Horror saying that line, "We've been working on one of those FOR YEARS... " ;) :D

Just as a "sticky" link, and just like it is now- only you could think of it as having all of the posts and their respective replies therein in parallel threads, as opposed to being serially listed in one looong thread. No more intervention, monitoring, or moderation required than as-is. Probably less. And it would still be somewhat chronologically listed, bumping by posted replies aside; it would just be reverse-ordered.

Great! I posted and ran. Didn't see this until, now. Hope it works out!

Yes -- there is indeed something in the works. It has reached the "moderator comments" stage and we're checking into how to do it best. Hang in there!
