I'm so excited to have rediscovered this forum alive and well after it was banished from AOL. I used to frequent SOS in its AOL days and I was very upset when AOL dropped this service.

I eagerly returned repeatedly to SOS's subsequent shelter at 3D Audio awaiting word of a new home, but never found it until now.

It looks like I have some catching up to do! I'll be back here often to see what's what.

Glad you found us! It's the same basic concept as before, but we have a more sophisicated BBS system...

We are the undead!

And now...
Version 3.0!

Gee... I hadn't realized SSS was the rec-oriented forum on AOL... unless there was more than one, I used to hang out there way back in my AOL days. IIRC, wasn't Tony Visconti hanging out there? Or am I thinking of a similar forum on the old Compuserve, even earlier?

I can't speak about Compuserve, but Tony Visconti was indeed hanging out on the SSS forum on AOL. I started posting on SSS in 1995, I believe, as ElevenShad.

Hence the tagline, "Welcome to cyberspace's longest-running virtual party for musicians!" Which it is :) And I figure I'll live at least another 10 years, so hopefully we'll be able to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Meanwhile, the Stranger is inching ever-closer to his degree in Archaeology!

And yes, Tony Visconti did used to hang out at the AOL SSS. I still see him from time to time at shows, I should remind him to hang out here from time to time.

As to the other famous people who stop by here, if I told you who they were, they'd have to kill me.
