Has anyone seen that movie..where they record dead peoples voices? and play them back?

I think it'd be cool to record that stuff and apply it in the studio and even on stage.

Sounds like a cool idea, especially when the percussion parts are played on human skulls and bones!

Recording dead people is nothing new. I've recorded audience sounds from my gigs for years.

Maybe they can record that Brazilian guy the Limeys shot...

I bet he'd say "DON'T SHOOT! I'M NOT AN ARAB!!!"

You sure that was a movie and not a Rolling Stones record?

White Noise?

That movie sucked big time.

Interesting concept though.

Good one Tedster! I'll be using it.

I've played some gigs where we should have drawn chalk outlines around the audience members.

Where can I get some WAV or AIFF files of John Holmes speaking from beyond?

I've never seen the movie or even knew there was one, but the phenomenon is fairly well documented. A lot of it can be explained... radio interference and that sort of thing, but I'm still intrigued by the personal messages people have received with information only the person and the deceased were privy to.

First I heard of it was in a an article in a 1995 issue of Popular Electronics called “Ghost Voices.”

I don't know about recording dead people, but this is proof positive that old threads can be brought back from the grave. ;)

Who's John Holmes?

EDIT: Eh, never mind. I just did a google image search with safe search off, so I… um take it we’re not talking about Sherlock Holmes smarter brother then, right?

By the way, for the record mine's bigger. ;)

Gheez,.... I had that once,..well sort off,.....

I was mixing a song once and had all the tracks that were bad ,muted. We recorded a last vocal take and I thought I hit the stop button but the track kept on rolling and recorded nothing because we went out of the studio to smoke something. our guitarplayer walked out of the smoking room to call his girlfriend(which he did in the studio).

When we got back in the studio we listened to the mix a few times on high level and afterwards we discussed the song without hitting stop.

Suddenly we heard someone say,..awesomely loud : Hey honey,...when I get home make sure you're undressed,..I'm gonna rip you a part!!!"

Man we were scared shitless but instantly knew that was the guitarplayer calling his girlfriend... he tried to hit stop but we made sure he couldn't do that because we wanted to listen to all he said haha. ( I mixid the lines in an other song of ours once and when we took the CD to the local bar here about 150 people heared it.

Could it be you were perhaps scared shitless for a second because you didn't no if maybe "Honey" might be one of y'all?

There is something in my refrigerator--- a squeaky belt, maybe?--- that every now and then start to sound like a woman sobbing... heaving great whimpers and sighs. It's creepy, too.

Speaking of John Holmes, I watched Wonderland, which was in the bargain bin and it was actually pretty good. Interesting story.

Heh, we’re close to the same height… I'm 6’ ¼” and 185 lbs, but I hear those guitar players are high in cholesterol so I...

...well I did once kiss, bite and lick a girl guitar player all over from head to toe... you know just to get a taste, but I would never actually eat one for real... not in a cannibalistic sense anyway. She kept saying, "Oh God" over and over.

It was a bit awkward for me though because I didn't know for sure if she was praying for deliverance or giving thanks. Anyway, she seemed like God and her were very close the way she was talking to Him and all, and I like that in a girl. That was a long time ago though.

She was a very talented guitar player and folk singer. She did a solo thing at the University in a coffee house where I used to hang out. Actually I don’t really like coffee, so I drank hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it, and turned out so did she. It was a cool establishment, only open during the winter months and there was a huge stone fireplace and all candles… no electric lights at all. Looked sort of like a castle inside.

That was one of those magic places I used to go and write songs. So one night she came over to my table to see what I was writing and we started talking over a hot apple cider and a candle. We started hanging out and one night ended up at the Illini Union sitting together at the piano in the South Lounge where Dan Fogelberg wrote quite a few of his songs years before. I didn’t know that at the time… I just found the piano and started going there to write songs.

I found out it was Fogelberg's hangout later. (It was a magic piano… it almost played itself. I wrote some of my best stuff on it). So we were sitting together on the piano bench and I was playing a couple of my songs, and she could play to so we started kinda collaborating and trying out ideas, which by the way is a real turn on for me with the opposite sex. At some point I started wondering what a girl guitar player might taste like, so I just had to find out.

They taste very good and I can highly recommend them if you’re in the market. Don’t really eat them though because there aren’t really enough to go around as it is.

Ah the memories… for some reason winter was always a great season for love for me… don’t know why. I mean my tan was even faded and all, so... :idk:

This the Union where the piano is... can't find a pic of the piano though. Nice place, eh?
