Can I get some help here? My problem: I just started recording from my turntables to my G3 blue and white. I am useing a audio phile 2496 to record sound into my computer to record. My mixer is a Roland Dj1000 with two Vestax pdx 2000 tables. I use a Bose lifestlyes 12 system for audio. When I play every thing sounds great. the bass is big and fat sounding.
when I record onto the computer using only the standard apple simple sound manager. I have to convert the files through SoundApp to get the files to match the yamaha 2100 to burn a cd.
After I burn a cd I can hear the bass completely drop out of one turntable through the entire cd. I beleive the problem was the turntable but am not sure. when I play normal their is no difference in sound between tables but playing the recorded cd on the bose you can immediately tell something is wrong. It almost sounds like their is a cross over somewhere? I bought the sound card through Musicans friend used so I am kinda leery about it . Has anyone heard of a problem like this or have any suggestions. thanks alot.

Nope. I wish I could help. I record straight into a home audio type CD burner. I try to steer clear of PC recording. What type of stuff are you recording. If you are just recording mix sessions and practices you might check out a shelf style cd burner or a minidisc recorder. The simpler your path the easier it is to troubleshoot. If you are into laying down songs you might want to get a 4 track recorder. Check out the Zoom MRS-4. It's a digital 4 track for under $250. I hope this helps.

you should be able to find somewhere in the recording program your useing a sound level indicator, make sure your not peaking out, make sure... cause this could cause the problem, just about the only thing that would cause the problem with that setup if it was one turntable only... the audiophile card is phenominal for what you are doing, contact MAUDIO with the problem, also get the latest drivers, should help you out... in fact if you dont have the latest drivers, then that might just be it...

Thanks for listening I Beleive it was the turntable after performing many tests isolating the signal. I called vestax and they said they never heard of a problem like this and exclaim send my turntable to them would waste time. SO I SENT it to them.... IT turns out the the board on the vestex was default and I been waiting 5 weeks for a Service tech and parts to come in from japan who should have been there 2 weeks ago.the table is under a year old and I bought it NOT from a ceritified vestax dealer so I will see if they make me pay or not. I will let you all know... I know I should have kept my trusty 1200's
