yo!
its been a long time, hope everyone's OK?
I'm trying to find the music to Eddie Lang's 'a handfull of riffs' so that me and my friend can learn it. I have it on CD, i just want either the sheet music or tab or anything but i can't find it anywhere :(
does anyone know where I can find it?

Sorry I don't know where in the UK you can find that stuff... Eddie Lang is such a player... I like it as much as I like Django. Good luck!

I think you should try. It must be great fun plus good ear training

ok i'm gonna give it a go with the help of my friend. he's a composer and guitar/piano teacher so he should be a great help. he's really up for learning the lead part too which is good as i doubt i'd be able to play it in a million years!

right, so far i've worked out that the rhythm guitar is tuned to D A D F# A D and i've kind of worked out the first 12 bars.
no idea about the lead guitar yet!
only another few hundred bars to go! :(

cool, i found a book with the music in. it's called "Masters of the Plectrum Guitar" by William Bay if anyone's interested.... doesn't sound like anyone is though.

well, i ordered the book and it turned up on friday. The problem is it's all in proper notation which i can read, just not very fast. also the rhythm guitar part is totally made up so i'm still having to work that out by ear.
got to 36 bars now :)

so no-one else has ever worked this out then? am i gonna be the first to work it out by ear (well the rhythm part anyway)? that would be cool
does anyone know what tuning the lead part is in? if the rhythm guitar is tuned to D does that mean the lead part would be too?
