I think that I screwed up. I bought a lighting board (NSI) and two dimmer packs (also NSI). The problem is that it takes a person to run it (the board). The chase function sucks, and the lights just don't really chase as much as flicker. I've got 16 par56, and I just bought four par 38's for some front lighting from the front of the stage.
What I need is someone who knows which brand and model of dimmer pack I can use to let the lights run themselves. I'd just like them to sync up with the music. I want the 4 par38's in front to remain lit throughout the show pretty much, so I really just need the back line and sideline cans to turn on and off with the music.
And having the front 4 par 38's on some sort of blackout switch might be nice too, for that occasional effect.
Any ideas?

Maybe you can trade your controller for the NSI foot controller.

Keep your cues simple and do just a few changes per tune. That will be a lot better than a random chase that will not sync with the tune. 2 or three well designed changes will have more impact than just a bunch of lights flashing.

That's a good idea.
Thanks.

How fast are you running the chase though? If you are running it really quickly, the lights will flicker as they don't have enough time to heat up. Also, you might have a long cross fader globally assigned to all the chases.

Well, I think I solved my problem. I bought an American DJ CC-2016 dimmer/chase pack, and it runs the lights to the music automatically. Just plug it in and let them go. I'll still use the NSI dimmer paks on the front lights and some DJ SCAN gobo's.
Thanks for the help.
