'-Do i NEED headphones or can i just use my Sony monitors that i have?'
- How about telling us what you're trying to do then maybe we can answer this. Listening to records, no. Mixing records, yes.
'-My right channel is very quiet for some reason and it is not my cables or speakers...should i just take this apart and clean it?'
- Your right channel? Again tell us more specifically what this 'setup' is then maybe we can answer.
'-Are Garrad turntables any good? Needle is very nice on it..direct drive..good for turntablin? '
- I have never heard of Garrad turntables, I would not imagine they are good for turntablin' but I could be wrong, they may be some obscure company I just haven't heard about.

My setup is two turntables into an eq into an amp I'm gettin a mixer soon (cheap -open for suggestions)
My speakers from the amp are 200 watt with 10" subs with tweeters. I want to be able to do Dj Icey, Dj Swamp stuff where i have some phat beat and then bust some scratches off it. Why would headphones make a difference is my question....thanks for any explanations

Yes, you need headphones. You need them so you can keep track of the song that you're going to mix/scratch while the other song plays over the speakers. You have to be able to hear both records at once. Hopefully this will come together a little bit when you get a mixer. Regarding this, you'll probably want some kind of 10 inch performance mixer. Check out a web site like www.pssl.com for info on just about every mixer under the sun.
Regarding your other questions, I think I've heard of Garrad, but they don't have a reputation for making dj turntables. I'm sure they'll work for you for a little while at least. I'm also kind of unclear as to what you mean about your right channel being quiet... Do you mean the right channel on your amp? Please clarify.

yeah the right channel on my amp is messed up so i need to clean it or somethin to fix that. I am going to get a cheap mixer to see if i can scratch and i don't want to spend that much cash if i'm gonna let them sit and collect dust. If i get good i'll get some 1200's and a Rane and i'll be set. As for records...Toasted Marshmallow Foot breaks rules!
