Get an LXP 15 II instead. Make sure its the 15II and not the 15. They had bad pots in the early ones. If you want to program the 1 or 5 you will need the MRC which is 200 bucks used...

But I think the LXP-5 sounds better. The delays, chorus and shifts are in someways better. I also say you can't beat the LXP-1 verbs for the price. I just hate the half space units for racking. The default presets are good as standalones IMO. Cheers.

To answer your questions...

LXP-1 Verbs
LXP-5 Delays..chorus, flange, pitch shift

Together...priceless
:D

True, and I wish they'd just integrated the whole thing into one single spaced unit with the MRC. Now that would be a killer unit.

I know a guy who's selling the LXP 15 (not the II) for 250$00 and i'm interested. What's the main diferences between the original and the II? Does the II sound better? Should i wait for the II?

Its right here: bad pots... not in all units but in a lot. Plus the software is different as are some of the display screens.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what are the pots?

The input and output attenuators are the pots... just get the II...;)

What's the main diferences between the original and the II? The biggest difference is that in the II, the reverb alogrithms were improved to be have a little more glimmer and be a little more dense. All the reverb tails were made much smoother and with less grainy artifacts. A well worthy upgrade.

Plus if you get the Jim Williams Audio Upgrades, the units sound a whole lot better for a 150.00 investment. Better opamp and converters among other things. I'm trying hunt one or the other down on E-bay as we speak.

Yeah that's Bob Sellon, he was working on mods for the PCM series and the JamMan. I haven't kept up since I got out of looping.

I owned both of these units. Both are good, but difficult to live with. Input, Mix, and output level controls are great since you can use in a parallel effects loop for optimum results. "Learn" feature - you hold a button down while transmitting a midi patch message and it will store to it. They have about 50 user patches each and about 50 pre-defined patches which you can use or copy. Very few controls. Difficult to rack them. I used a Utility rack shelf but had to mount it on bottom of rach to get everything else to fit. Great reverbs! I like the LXP1 for reverbs, as it has Hall, which I love when playing alone. You don't need them both, as a lot of it is redundant. But they make a nice pair, especially if you have the programming box. All are out of date. I sold my LXP1 and regret it now.
