I just purchased Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
It's full of interviews and members playing various parts of the songs. They could have cut down on the interviews with the non-participants of the album but it is still one of the best DVDs that I have. I just wish it was a double DVD. I wholeheartily recommend this.
The Bands' Last Waltz is incredible and actually brought a tear to my eye. Hedrix's Isle of Wight is good and the sound problems made it more interesting to me. Can anyone tell me more about some other Hendrix DVDs that I should look into?
Collecting music DVDs is starting to become a new hobby for me.

I love the Beatle's Anthology DVD.
I also have "Symphonic Yes"....a recent Yes concert with a full symphony! It is absolutely astonishing. It has completely restored my faith is Yes, as I had become of the opinion that they had become a pitiful oldies cover band.
The Beatle's "Hard Days Night" is one that I watch most frequently....it is cool to see them as young, friends and having fun.....they got so damn serious by the end....

I have that one, too. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and I was amazed at how good it actually was. It brought back a lot of found memories of my childhood.

A year and a half in the life of metallica is great. Has some live stuff, a few music videos, and a lot of behind the scenes stuff.

George Clinton - Mothership Connection
It is actually Parliament from the P-Funk Earth tour (Houston TX), but they do show the jam at the end (Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament, Funkadelic, and Bootsy's Rubber Band all on stage at the same time...mindblowing!)

Excellent! I have that as well. It's early in Stevie's career just as he started to get big. It does remind me of his Austin City Limits show but he's much younger.

I don't have a real "favorite" but I like SRV Live at El Mocambo. It's nothing but the concert, shot simply on video in teh early 80's. No special features, no deleted scenes or extras, no fancy lights and camera work--no funny stuff. Just the band playing hteir hearts out. I like its simplicity. The music speaks for itself and doesn't need to be tarted up with all that extra DVD hoopla.
