You can get a form from the US government (library of Congress) and just fill it out!
It's 10.00 per song OR if you want to save money
bundle all of your songs together and call it a collection-
then you only pay one registration fee and everything in the collection is copyrighted.
Easy-
(that's the legal way, anyway)

Bryan

Also, include a copy of your lyrics, that way they're also in the bundle.
Here ya go:

Keep in mind that creative artistic work is automatically copyrighted to the creator. Registering your work with the Library of Congress is merely a way to have legal proof of the copyright. It is not required for copyrighting, but a darn good idea. I do the "collection" route that BryanMichael is referring to - saves a lot of time and money. You can download the forms from the site.

i was wondering this too, if you have a bunch of lyrics no matter hw many songs, yo an send them in as one whole group so it is cheaper? could you also do this with a cd or demo tape, just send it all n as 1 collecton and its the same as sending them all in seperate and they all are copyrighted?
thanks
Yes. You can send a collection of songs on one tape or CD, and register them as a collection. You only pay one fee. You can even register songs you are working on - just needs a recognizable verse and chorus. Read all the instructions on the website.
