numark help

I bought a numark turntable at a sale price lately and decided to set it up in my home stereo system. I have absolutely no volume from it when patched in to the aux inputs of my stereo. Do I need a preamp to lift the level? IF cranked I hear a signal but not at a listening volume even when maxed out.

nevermind, I think I have found the answer in another post. Sorry for the taking up of anyones time.
