I have an Audiophile 2496 and I just bought Sonar 2.0 XL. I am having trouble using a keyboard midi controller with the softsynths. It lags pretty bad. I'm wondering if it will help if I install the WDM drivers. Problem is my computer wont let me change the drivers. How do I do this and will they run on my computer. I am using an AMD K6-2 450 with 384 MG RAM and Windows 98 SE. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Julien

The WDM drivers for your Audiophile card will only work with Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP. So, you would have to upgrade your operating system or stay stuck with the latency that you are experiencing now. You could also try changing the buffer size in your recording software to try lowering the latency.

Your updated drivers are here. Those may be the wrong drives as posted above.

just right-click 'My Computer', go to device manager and point the upgrade files to the directory you download it to.

Then go to the M audio properties, Hardware settings and put the DMA buffer settings to the lowest possible (336 samples) and increase if you hear clicks
