View Full Version : Questions about GCX Audio Switcher

I've read the site, I've read the reviews but I still have some questions.

First of all, is it possible to use the GCX to switch fx before or after pre-amp? Can you determine where in your signal path the fx are sitting? This switching is new for me so I'm also wondering if my G-Major will work with it.

My rig has a GX-700, G-Major and 2 pedals. I want to be able to switch the stuff in and out of the signal path as well as determine where in the path (before or after pre-amp gain) it sits, is this possible with the GCX?

I already mailed H535 who offered a manual for it a while ago but does anybody know if you can get the manual somewhere?

Thanks,

Yoeri

You can put stuff in loops before and after the preamp. Whatever you want, you just can't change it after it's patched that way. For that you need a Switchblade.
Put your pedals in the loops before the input of the amp, and then take your fx send out to a loop with your rack effect(s) in it, and back to your return, or power amp.

Thanks man, I´m thinking that maybe the GRX4 from Axess Electronics better suits me. I only want to put some pedals in front of my amp, the G-Major is doing ok in the loop.

I have a GRX4 for pedals and it works great, especially if you don't mind not having it rack mountable.

You can call DMC, and talk with tech support.. they will explain just about anything over the phone.

The GCX rocks!

Lord Riff,

Mario and his axess stuff are awesome. You can never go wrong with his gear or his company.

Anyone else have the manual? Voodoo Labs doesn't seem to have a working phone number anymore and won't answer e-mails either...

I'm using my GCX to switch 4 pedals before my amps, 1 pedal after my amp, control 2 rack units (a 1210 and a 2290) AND switch channels on my amp.

It's 8 independant loops that can also serve as a latching or momentary switching function. There's no routing internally between the loops. You put them anywhere you want based on how you wire your rig.

I like mine. It's not too expensive, sounds fine, and has never given me any trouble.
