For now anyway, I just installed a Delta 1010, and maxed out my RAM, then as a quick test, I recorded a couple of old songs from my 4 track cassette recorder into Cakewalk GT PRO, all 4 tracks at a time! I'm a happy camper right now, everything seems to be working as it should, I can't wait to get a couple of new projects going.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, in a couple of weeks I think I'm going to install a second hard drive too, I've already got a 20 gig, and I want to put in an 80 gig for the audio, I may need some help with that, I don't know anything about formatting or how to make Cakewalk send it's audio to a different hard drive.
I think I may be able to retire my 16 track TASCAM soon. This is a whole new way of recording for me, I've been doing the analog thing for many years, but the editing possibilities of computer based HD recording is just too good to pass up.
