Does anyone know if the equipment used on the song Bombay Vindaloo (jam from Alive At The Marquee) was basically his TriAxis > 2:90 rack ?
thanks !

It was Triaxis + 2:90. I can't stand the tone on that tour - it's really thin and there's no balls. Lots of people love it though. It's just a Triaxis (he had another one as backup) and 2:90 with some effects (I seem to remember he used a Lexicon unit). If you check his site I think his clinic rig is pretty much the same as the rig from that tour.

On the Marquee album, it was a Triaxis to a 2:90, and a Lexicon PCM 70 in a TC 2290 loop - an additional TC param EQ was used for feedback control only. There's a Boss NS2 pedal right before the preamp (only takes out the noise picked up by the guitar), and a Hush IICX.
I kinda like this tone, it sounds a bit "jangly" at times; I know he combined preamps later, which could achieve this tone, but he didn't back then...weird.
By the way, am I the only one to hear the change of preset in "another hand" on this album, when he switches to C#m7, just before the intro solo leading to the Killing hand? This sounds like either some chorus added, or tow amps combined...

Well, really seems to be basic, as I though.
Do you know if he had to use all those BBE
around to make the TriAxis sound better ?

Biuje,
What BBE units are you talking about? To the best of my knowledge, JP has never used a piece of BBE gear. He's a Lexicon, TC Electronics, Eventide guy.
Later,
Jeff
