I do right now have a Delta 66 card, and am planning an upgrade. Can anybody here explain to me what's the differences between the Delta 1010 and the Delta 1010 LT? And how will those cards work thogether with my old card?

I gather it's rather simple. The 1010 has all it's important stuff in a breakout box, which protects it from all sorts of nasty interference.

Basicly if you look at the stats, the 1010 has slightly better dynamics, lower noise floor, and so on.

But the difference is marginal. If the LT is your budget, I don't think you should feel like youre not getting your moneys worth. They're both rather good. The 1010 in my experiance is exceptional.

How it'll work with the old one? fine probably? But errrrr, depends on what you want to do with it.

Delta 66;
4 balanced jacks analog I/O on breakoutbox + sp/dif digital I/O

Delta 1010lt;
8 analog I/O on breakoutcable, of which 6 ins and 8 outs are unbalance RCA plugs and 2 ins are balanced XLR's (both line or mic level), another breakout cable with midi I/O, sp/dif digital I/O, wordclock sync I/O

Yes they will work fine next to eachother, giving you 12 analog I/O at the same time :D

Note; the Delta 1010LT is definately NOT the same card as the Delta 1010

Looks to me that the two important differences between the 1010 and the 1010LT are the breakout box moving stuff away from the noisy pc and the unbalanced vs. balanced lines.

I don't consider the breakout box that huge of a deal other than for organization ease, but I do consider the balanced lines a big deal.

Well.. since M-Audio never says the audio quality of the 1010 and the 1010LT are the same, I assume the quality of the LT might be not as good as the normal 1010.

I have an LT myself and it sounds fine though :)

Hey that's helpfull.. I never noticed the LT being unbalanced.

Though I must admit.... in most home studios, balanced isn't really really required.
