how do i find out if our band name is already trademarked

Just got annother band together finally, and we have a tentative name that we all agree on. I'm feeling pretty good about this project, and feel like it could last a few years. I'm sort of worried that our name may already be taken. Is there anywhere i can find out if it is already trademakrked?

Yeah you have to pay the government like a few hundred dollars to search. Its part of the trademarking procedure.

Hire a trademark search firm, or an attorney specializing in intellectual property. Remember that you get what you pay for.

The USPTO won't actually do a search alone for you. You must file your application, and if they find a close match already registered, your application will be denied with no refunds.

This is why a trademark search is recommended prior to filing the application.

I think the website is called "bandname.com" or something like that. It's a search engine for band names, but that's no guarantee. Get a lawyer.

?? we jsut searche don the net, if they dont have a site, you set one up, and screw em, then if you get busted change it.
