Epox 8kha onboard sound

is anyone successfully using the onboard sound of the Epox 8kha+ for system sounds, along with a higher end sound card for recording? i am getting an Echo Mona card in a bit, and have read that you should disable onboard sound with the Epox MB. but, if i can avoid putting in a cheap sound blaster for system sounds, that'd be great.

any advice is welcome. using Win2k. should i be setting up different hardware configurations and such?

You should be able to have both cards active. I have two soundcards active, my partner in crime also, and the one is an on board one. No different configurations.

on the 8kha+ you can disable the midi port seperately. should be okay just doing that.
