Hi HC, I purchased a 1992 tele plus on ebay about a week ago and after having it arrived at my house everything seemed great. Besides the need for a new setup the guitar looked and felt great. I really hope it isn't counterfeit , I have been trying to get my hands on this specific color of this kind of guitar for years now. any information would be helpful.

I'm no expert on Fenders but I'm sure there are a few here who are. However I did check the serial number and that comes up as a Fender built in the USA in 1993-94. You say you "never even thought about being sold a counterfeit", so what was it that made you suspicious?

Nothing made me suspicious, aside from needing an intonation the guitar felt and sounded great. The only reason why I thought it could have been a counterfeit was by discovering that this section of Harmony Central existed. I didn't realize how rampant the ebay scandals were. I don't think mine is counterfeit, something tells me it is not. But then again I am no expert. It was built in 1993 now that I check the advertisement, so it seems they were honest there.
That was a real and very common color on those btw

i think that is authentic as the day is long. I've had two of the plus's and all the parts on yours line up to what have been on mine. It is also in SUPERB shape...baby that thing!
