I found this in a craigslist ad for $500.
Extremely suspicious price, but I mean, I might as well make sure it's a fake before I write it off as one.

It's (Supposed to be) a 1960 Classic Reissue.
It has an angled headstock and the green inlays, which probably could easily be reduplicated.

I emailed him asking for pictures of both sides of the headstock, wiring cavity, and bigger one's of the front/back of the body/neck.

The first thing that I noticed looks fishy is the sticker on the pickguard. It looks like the stickers they put on new Epis, but they don't put stickers on the new USA Gibsons. If it's supposed to be a real Classic, I think the pickups should have nickel covers also.

Did you ever get any better pics?

The sticker does look like one of those EPI stickers. I've never seen one on a Gibson. Perhaps the pickguard was replaced?

Uncovered pickups is correct for the Classic. Hard to tell if the truss rod cover says "Classic" and if the pickguard says 1960 from that shot. Other than that, it looks correct for a Les Paul Classic Plus. A regular Classic doesn't have the flame top like that.

I would ask for more pics and ask what specific model it is.

Check out TradeTang, the China merchant equivalent to our e-bay - bet you see a similar photo. Since e-bay monitors for fakes, you cannot sell Chinese guitars there but you can on Craigslist. Just remember, if it turns out to be made by the Chinese, it was probably made on a Friday before the annual Yak festival by angry mongols in the Gobi desert. Take that as a warning.
