There is a guy selling a gibson supreme here for cheap. He claims to not know the brand even though it says gibson on the headstock.
I have attached a pic of the headstock

The answer, after closely looking, is YES.
Th truss rod cover is too close to the nut.
Also, in other pics there is a lack of fret binding.

Fake. The supreme inlay looks completely wrong -- from the cloudy looking "supreme" ribbon to the fact that the globe doesn't look much like the earth but more like a marble.
Stay away from it. He probably won't ID it as a Gibson because he doesn't want to be accused of selling a counterfeit.

Looks like a piece of Crap to me, its an ugly guitar to begin with however. Not a les paul just all that supreme crap

It is a fake. The truss rod cover is one indicator, but the crooked logo is a for sure. Actually you can go to yahoo, and look up Gibson guitar counterfeit bust, the fakes there look VERY similar to this. Some chick in China got busted with a warehouse of fake gibsons. Do not buy it.

In my experience the two most commonly faked LP's are the Supreme's and the Zaak Wylde models.

looks fake but it's not represented as real by any means, right? so I don't see the issue with the post. If it is listed as a real Gibson than the seller might have some problems

Need more pictures - close ups. Too hard to tell with one picture....

looks like it... note the "off-setting" between the top two tuning pegs.

no.. it's fake
but this one is real. Note that the continents are distinguishable on the globe.. not a mess like the sellers :thu:
the headstock open book isn't pancaked. The logo looks better. The truss cover isn't butted against the nut. It's the little things that matter.
