you think with me having that exact same preamp and all i would get you the presets, but there are sooooooo many of them.
my switching system has an internal boost that i use to overdrive the the plexi sound into total beef.

you are right about the power amps being cranked. both his triaxis and jmp are set with the preamp volumes at half or less than half. pretty awkward.

You own James Iha's JMP-1 don't you?
Can i get the preset for patch 35 from you? That's his really fat Hummer intro patch :)

I don't really play any metal.
For solos i boost the mids a LOT along with a slight volume boost on OD2.

Umber,
I didn't know you were a pumpkins fan? I've be playing along with the song porcalina for the last couple of days with the jmp-1 + strategy500 + Diezel and cranking out some fairly good sounds
It would be great to have thoes patches for my JMP-1 too;)
Just out of curosity what tubes came in the triaxis and JMP-1???
Thanks

believe it or not, the stock manufactuer's tubes.
i really am not a big fan of the pumkins, the only album i can really get into is machina. i have to admit i own all their albums though(i have over 400 cds though).
i will get that preset. the last thing i want to do during heated practices is jot down stuff(i will do it though)

i used to be uber, but i sold those preamps a long time ago.
the presets were really nothing special. their tone was in the combination of preamps, big muffs, power amps, amps, eventides, tc electronics, switching systems, well....you get the idea.

You have James's JMP-1 and Triaxis? like, ones that he actually USED? or one that just has his patches on, or what?
that would be so fucking cool
Oh, and thanks BillyCorgan (i keep wanting to call you spguitar, it suits you better). I'm just gonna go try em out.
PS. my new geetar might be coming in an hour or two (if it comes today). I'm so excited!

Hey Billy!
About your JMP-1, does it really affect the tone if you change the tubes and/or crank that volume knob?

I haven't changed my tubes but the volume knob does make a big difference. I use it at half or slightly over half.

You must use some other kind of EQ. With my JMP-1 I find I have to roll off all of the treble and presence, and reduce it further with an EQ in order to balance the high end.

Why yes good sir,It is my responsibility as a member of the Tone Police to warn others of bad over hyped gear, not unlike how regular police warn a community of a sexual predator released from jail into a community.I wouldnt want your ears sodomized by some crap gear posing as the real deal.:D
I as a member of the "TP" promise you I will continue to "wipe" the scourge of "crap" gear posts from H-C.:p

no. this guy just comes in here to slag this particular piece of gear-over and over. he has a hate on for it.His opinion is a childish bashing of the jmp-1 and anyone who use's it. he and I have had at it on few ocasions. I am sick of his sorry ass attitude.go research his post's on the subject and you will see.he will no doubt post some mindless dribble ,in response to this, I am sure.If some one has a piece of gear and they like it .they should be entitled to post questions and opinions on it .without fear of an asshole comin along and insulting them for ther choice of gear (over and over). If you dont like something post your opinion and move on. dont keep coming back to stir up trouble.he is a TROLL in the rack forum.:)

Per your suggestion, I researched the banter between you and him and it looks like in every single argument he owned your ass. I did not once see a single decent argument from your side that aptly refuted what Soldano67 had stated.
Personally, I think that his case is well justified. If he doesn't like a piece of gear then he has all the right in the world to bash it. It's his opinion and he's entitled to it, no matter how much you like it or not.
It seems that the problem is that whenever he has something to post, YOU have to respond with some pithy retort bashing him. It also seems that HE should be able to post his own opinions without the fear of some asshole (YOU) coming along and insulting his opinion about a piece of gear. To the observer it appears that the only one posting mindless dribble here is you.

unfortunatly most of our threads have been deleted by the forum monitors.the other basher, qbqc17 was even banned.i got no problem with an opinion .if you hate something fine. but dont keep trolling here and beatin the same dead horse. And arent I entitled to my opinion? If i think that something is great,to me it is.is that ok? and if I think someone is an asshole, to me they are. Is that ok with you?and if you dont like my mindless dribble then put me on ignore, and you wont have to be bothered by it . the message was for him not you(but you can read it as your own now as well).....are you his mom or something?

i put up an add for a wizard amp i had. someone who new the pumpkins manager(who does alot of buying here on hc-or did at least). he offered me like 4 different things, 2 of which were james's preamps.
i took bolth and cash. i could tell they were his because the jmp had this green setting strip on it. i saw the same preamp in a magazine pic of his rack with the same green strip.
it really isnt a big deal. i sold the jmp to some huge pumpkins fan and the triaxis to some 80's guy who didnt even know who the pumpkins were(i still kick myself for that).

I'm not the only one here tired of your trolling. One of the few forums here that I enjoy visiting is Monster rack because I am a working musician and come here to trade ideas and share information and enjoy a laugh from time to time.
Since you have been on your jihad, I haven't been in here for awhile. It's not fun to try to get information when folks like you enjoy poisoning the well.
And as far as you not believing that people will get bent out of shape at your baiting and trolling, you remind me of the type of person who hangs out with a group of people and shoots snide remarks and insults at the expense of others, and when you hit a nerve and hurt someone, all of a sudden they all turn and glare at you and walk away while you say, "Hey, what's his/her problem, Cantcha take a joke?"
Sound familiar?
If this is the type of person you are (which I suspect), I pity you.
Why don't you get off YOUR computer and enjoy life. Go out and spend some time with your friends. Sadly for you, you probably don't have any.
This is the last time I will rise to your games. It is a waste of time and energy to try to reason with a person who is mentally ill.
