Contact Frank at Joe Barden Engineering in Manassas, VA and ask.
A photo of the pickups in question might help too.

I don't believe the materials or basic design of Barden pickups has changed much. Things used to be less consistent for sure and build quality was less stringent. If you like Bardens, the current production is pretty darned good.

As far as any question of counterfeit Bardens, just know what a Barden looks like so no one can mislead you with someone elses blade-style pickup.

good idea....The Tele in question is a G&L ASAT Classic and I know they are not stock G&L...G&L doesnt make a barden style to go into an ASAT...they use a gotoh blade for the legacy specials and Invaders that are very barden looking but nothing available for the ASAT. And these "barden" pickups are for a tele not an asat...the asat uses a strat size in the neck and a tele uses a smaller pickup...I will dismatle the guitar on the next string change as get some good close up shots of them and see where that brings me...thanks...

Here's a not so great pic of the Bardens in my Tele...

One clue to the real deal is the offset of the rails in the bridge pup which not all pup makers do. The ones you have in your photo appear to be Bardens but some clearer, larger pics would help with a positive ID.
