What makes the headstock suspect?

Nothing wrong with it...the script (the lack of cut on the b and the o) are typical of that era(both my 73 Deluxes are the same)

the edges seem to have more of a point too

and the scale is different

no idea

customs? :D

i always found it comical that a "custom" guitar is NOT made to customer specs

i'm sure it's been doted plenty

edit: also, i looked this up, didn't realize, ironically, dote means the decay of wood when used as a noun

Some 70's LP's had no dot...usually in the late 70's though.

I was watching a doc on the man Les Paul last night(Chasing Sound)...and it actually opened up with a shot of Les playing a Custom without a dot on the "i".
This thread came to my mind.

I doubt he was playing a counterfeit.

The corners of the headstock do seem a little more pointed than usual. I also find it unprofessional and a little suspect when sellers don't put in their location in the information box.

i bugs me because if they're right down the road, i don't wanna pay extra for shipping
