So here's my problem:
I bought a Nord lead 2x Synth and Reason 4 for use on my Mac Book pro, that is when I found out that Reason does not do MIDI OUT. I was hoping someone may be able to direct me towards an interface (I was thinking an M-Audio pro) that would allow me to use my Nord lead as a midi controller with Reason 4. Also I was wondering if the M-audio pro interface would allow me to record the built-in Nord lead sounds onto reason.

Is the M-audio Pro too much - or not enough?

Thanks to anyone who takes the few seconds to help me out. K

Don't think so, Reason doesn't record audio, it's a rack of virtual instruments and effects with a bare bones midi sequencer.

With the Rewire technology you can route audio and midi to a program that CAN record audio.

A USB midi interface will allow you to trigger the Reason instruments with your keyboard.

You'll probably have to add a proper sequencer program to your setup. I bought a new copy of Logic Express 8 on eBay for $100, you just have to keep a lookout.

Your going to have to get a sequencer ofr that for sure.

The cheapies are ok though, so don't panic. Try Sony Acid Pro (http://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Sony-Acid-Pro-6-Education/1AG) or try Ableton Live (http://www.gear4music.com/Music_Software/Ableton.html) - the LE version is way cheaper.

You could always use a basic free recorder on your computer and upload your Nord as a sample into NN-XT in Reason?

No Acid Pro on the mac unless you go through the pain of running windows.

You will definitely need a sequencer. They can be a bit expensive for the advanced ones. You might wanna get a second hand one but I doubt you will find it easily.
