ideas?

CB 5 seems to have some really sweet additions.

I have a Mackie Control Pro too, so would CB be better than Sonar since Sonar has to run MCU via midi whilst CB can run MCU on USB?

Hi,

I have never used Sonar nor any control surface but I do like Cubase 5. It's the most stable Cubase sinace the very first Cubase VST in the 1990s.

Cheers,

For your information, both the old MCU and the MCU Pro use MIDI to communicate with your DAW. The difference is that the MCU Pro has a MIDI interface built in.

I personally found Sonar very clunky whereas Cubase tends to be more stable, solid and streamlined. The MCU however work like shit with either DAW. If you don't believe me, try it and see it for yourself. In Sonar, the faders are jerky, and in Cubase the faders suddenly stop responding. Sonar is the lesser of two evils here. With Cubase it has been a total nightmare. I tried another DAW called Reaper, which I was very sceptical about, which actually worked damn well with my MCU and so now I use Reaper exclusively.
