I guess with the release of the G-Major 2, the release of a G-System 2 is inevitable.

I tried the Bass 2.0. It was pretty frickin' amazing how big it sounded for such a small package. But, the tone is not my cup of bass thank you. Too clinical snappy popping etc. for me.
If someone can get an SVT into a 1-15 combo size, let me know.
There was a very good Nordic Jazz/Metal player doing demos and the guiter amp sounded very good for that style. Very "produced". Once again, not my bag, but it sounded perfect for how he was using it.

I spent a bunch of time with the Rebel 450 - asking questions, checking specs, watching others test/demo them, and playing it myself. And I think that it was, by far, the most impressive item of the whole NAMM show. I loved this thing and it truly is something new.
Sure it CAN be "snappy poppy", but the tonal range is pretty huge and it's capable of so much more. If you had seen Steve Bailey demo it (which was awesome) you would have heard a TON of warmth, depth, richness, and smooth buttery tone, with just the right amount of throaty growl. The "tube tone", which is admittedly digital, was actually pretty damn impressive and vastly better than any other tube replicator I've ever heard. And the multi-band compressor was excellent.
TC really nailed it with this one. Best Of Show in my opinion.

anyone touch the gmajor 2? any improvement in the knobs? the intelligent pitch shift sounds cool, but otherwise, i see no new features that jump out. am i missing something? i sold my gmajor and sometimes regret it.
I dislike pushing multiple buttons just to adjust the wet/dry level and repeats for delay. These parameters change from room to room and I like having quick access to these.

Agree. It's a pretty damn good package for bass. Here is a demo from Namm:

I also owned a G Major, but mine broke after a couple weeks.
I am once again tempted towards the multi effects unit, this is so portable... i havent heard this one yet.

they got rid of the double encoder ring and you have now pushencoder plus
arrow keys for navigation. No more loosing the outer encoder ring ;)
Since the G-major can be best controlled via Midi, you can easily setup
Delay mix to be controlled by eg Expression pedal or for dealy times simple set "Tap Master" parameter, so all timerelated FX parameters of all presets are rescaled to your tapped Tempo. Fx settings for each block can be accessed by one double click on the FX block button.
Soundwise they added quite some new algorithms:
-Univibe emulation in different flavours
-Through Zero Flangers
- the great Trichorus from Nova Modulator (have one and love it!)
- more Filter Algos from G-Sstem ( touchwah, Touch res)
- retuned Reverbs
- Reverse delay
cheers, Pegelsteller

so will the G Major 2 freeze up all the time also?

Pegel,
Appreciate that -- that's pretty good news. My Gmajor never froze. But I sometimes play a small venue where I don't want a midi pedal on the floor. A dedicated tap tempo button on the GM2 would be nice. I know I'm picky. Maybe one of these midi controllers, designed for studio use, with sliders and a few buttons, would work well. I'd put it on top of a rack or amp head.
