The big deal here as to be vocal processors - particularly DigiTech's Vocalist Live and TC's pedals for vocalists, which also work really well in the studio.

I'm going to vote for the Digitech Vocalist Live Pro. I know there are lots of fans of both that and the VL4 (the floor version)

Because you can have harmonies at gigs without having to pay four more band members :)
