I'm not sure if this should be under a PA system or guitar amp, but I had a chance to play with the Fishman Solo Amp at my local GC.:thu:
When I get back out a start gigging again, I think I'm gonna grab one.

Egnater Rebel - excellent concept, execution, and price.
The Super Champ XD is another great amp esp for the money. That one may have come out officially the year before though.

I just grabbed a Crate V33 212 when MF was blowing them out on clearance. I know a lot of people crap on these, and maybe I got lucky, but this thing is absolutely awsome for the 250 I paid. I've never been happier with a gear purchase.

I have to say both the Black Heart Little Giant and the Egnater Rebel. The little giant has a tone that I just love. The Rebel is super sweet because of its flexibility and how well it does gain at low volumes.

I don't know. My first practice amp was a Crate GX-20M and quite frankly, it still rocks! I brought it used but it has overdrive, reverb and a respectable 20watts. Crates are built like tanks and nearly impossible to destroy.
For acoustic guitar I use a Roland SA-300 Stage Amp. Looks kind of like a half stack with the amp head on top and the subwoofer on the bottom. 350 watts is more than enough for small to medium venues. I looked at the Fishman Solo Amp and the Bose tower units but neither appear to offer stereo sound coverage. The Roland SA-300 is a stackable unit so stereo is definitely an option. Another option is you can boost the bottom end with a special control for the subwoofer. Sounds great and it can be used as either a PA or a stage amp, your choice.

Ive had the Alchemist, and about 12 other amps in my home to try out over the past 2 months. NONE were as sweet as the Princeton Reverb RI. The only amp to stop my amp gas!

bogner's alchemist and (unbelievably) the bugera 333xl. i'm surprised i actually endorsed the bugera but it really nails a hot rodded 800 tone in the crunch chan.

Spider Valve.... (wait for it....)
WITH the Strymon Pre mod. Totally different beast with that mod.
So, maybe my vote should be for the Strymon Pre?
Either way, I'm FINALLY totally digging my amp, and not on that continuous hunt for tone that I've been on for the past 15 years. ;)

I just heard a Fender Concert tube amp in concert the other day. It was incredible. Warm, clean but had a lot of juice to cover the whole room. I'm going to look into the Princeton RI though. The only Fender amp I own right now is their Passport PD-500 which is a 500 watt PA system. Gets the job done for vocals but it is not an electric guitar amp. My vocal condenser mics shine with the Passport which also has phantom power.
I emailed Bogner about the Alchemist and they said Line 6 is handling it. Anybody know about a connection between Bogner's Alchemist and Line 6?

Another vote for the Egnater Rebel, and the continuing evolution of the Egnater Mod series (Mod 50 Head and M4 preamp), with the addition of more killer preamp voicings (COD, T/D, EG5...)

+1 on the rebel. KILLER piece of gear.
Absolutely. What makes the Rebel amp of the year IMHO is the 6V6/EL-84 blend pot, which as far as I know if the first amp with such a feature. Better than switch between 2 sets of tubes - more variety of tones. I believe you will see several amps with this feature in the next year.

probably not the correct category? For me:
Axe-Fx Ultra + Bose L1 Model II system (with T1 and 2 B1 bass modules). My preamp/amp/effects/cab, etc. GAS is dead for the first time I can remember.

My vote is for the bugera 333xl. Laugh, stomp, cry, whine, complain, what ever. I don't care, to me it has the best tone of any amp I have owned and I have owned some really nice gear. JVM, TSL, DSL, Road King, gnez benz el diablo, a bunch of 500 to 1000 dollar amps. The pure basic tone of this thing just flat out rocks. I am not needing to put a transistor overdrive in front of it. I don't need anything except my guitar. That is sort of the whole purpose of having a tube amp. Looking at some of the gear I have owned it is hard to believe to my ears I just compared this to some of the ones mentioned above. But for me the bugera is just pure amp heaven. Three great channels, reverb, effects loop. One of the best clean channels I have owned, the crunch and high gain channel are incredible. I am so glad I bought this amp. I know I may have troubles with it, but I had my JVM to the shop three times before giving up on it, The road king is truely king of the road, but I can't even start to imagine how much that thing would cost to get repaired. I have returned my Bugera and it was promply replaced, they even hardwired the transformer to the board on the new one I recieved. That is the area that burned out on the first one I had. Maybe they are making improvements as it goes along. For just pure amp tone on all three channels this is at the top of my list. I know this may be a rip off of the JSX but good for me, I just saved about 800.00 for an amp I love.

For my needs my Spider Jam III works great. I am certain that I could find a better sounding amp but not one with as many different capabilities. I song, I play I can record on the fly. I can layer recordings and it sounds pretty nice. I can get better recordings sure but I do not have the space or the time right now to worry about that. I have a Fender Bassman 20 that can shake the walls so a half stack or larger amp is not necessarily my cup o tea. I will probably grow out of it but my kids can have fun with it. It is pretty versatile sound wise and does so many things that for my money this has been a great buy that I am just scratching the surface of.

Update. I originally said the Blackheart Little Giant and the Egnater Rebel. I am going to stick with the Rebel but change my mind on the Blackheart. The rebel still excites me but the Blackheart wound up collecting dust once the Rebel arrived.
I want to add another vote for the Bogner Alchemist. I saw them talked about and finally got to try one out a 2x12 combo. I then brought it home with me! Great combination of clean and gain sounds! Plus built in Reverb and Delay! I'm lovin' it!
