Squire Classic Vibe Telecaster
I have 6 other electric guitars, Fender, Gibson and G&L USA. I bought the Squire Thanksgiving weekend and I can't enjoy playing anything else yet. It's a great guitar at a unbelievable low price.

Mexican Deluxe Strat
Don't know whether I was just lucky or what,
but this strat played better in the shop than
quite a few others that were way more expensive.
A beautiful instrument.
That's a pic of it in my sig.

Nothing else in It's price range even comes close. It's better than guitars that cost 3 times the price. It has a original Floyd Rose trem, 2 DiMarzio PU's, a silky smooth and ultra fast neck. They playability is awesome. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Gibson Les Paul Axcess. Finally, a fully modernized version of the venerable Les Paul. Lots of improvments, from the neck joint, chambered body, asymetrical neck profile, coil tapped pickups, and of course the Floyd Rose tremolo bridge.
Too bad it costs so damn much!

Reverend!
Not necessarily new in 2008, but new to me. Guitars are the ulitmate personal thing, and my Reverend Charger 290 has been the most joyalicious guitar I've bought--perfectly suited to my playing, pristinely set up, excellent P90, the unique and awesome bass contour knob, and a wonderful price tag.
Like the Gil Parris Signature model too.
Reverend! Pretty special guitars.

American Deluxe Stratocaster
American Deluxe Telecaster
The S-1 Switching system, V-neck and noiseless pickups make these two of the best guitars Fender has produced in years. The variation in tone makes them the ulitmate stage and recording guitars.

I purchased the North American made Fender Strat and have been really pleased with it. (Yep, Mexico is in North America folks!)
If I do decide to get another electric guitar, it will most likey be the American Standard Strat or the VG model with the Roland effects. Right now I'm satisfied with what I've got.

I stumbled across this one last September. If you haven't played a baritone, do so, and this is the one to get! It beautifully reproduces the '63 sounds and because of its modern construction has much less issues than the original.
http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/regular/0/4/9/565049.jpg
P.S. if you have a vibrato or trem peddle, crank it up and you get the best spaghetti western sounds ever. Gunsmoke anyone?

I've seen one of these, and heard them (in a jam session). It does seem like a great guitar.

Teuffel Niwa was a 2008 release:
http://www.teuffel.com/english/guitars/niwa/niwa_main.htm
http://www.teuffel.com/bilder/guitar_pix/niwa_pix/600%20x%20300/niwa-to-front.jpg
http://www.teuffel.com/bilder/guitar_pix/niwa_pix/600%20x%20300/niwa-apricot-back.jpg
Heard about it when David Torn started posting about his in another forum. He describes it as Teuffel's most conservative guitar model. Dunno if his personal Niwa has the noise switches and such that he has on his Teuffel Tesla and Koll Tornado. This page describes the noise buttons on the Tesla:

Chris Forshage continues to run with the ball that Steve Klein started rolling with his ergonomic electric guitar design. He finished a Tele-style axe in 2008:

Well... hard to say. I love my Vox Virage. The Virage team did it right with this beauty. I have the double cutaway in black. Fantastic looks, playability and sound. And..... I also bought two custom made, hand built professional level guitars from Neal Moser (designer of the BC Rich, Rich Bich). These two fantastic instruments are the favorites of my stable of 16. These are way better than anything I've every played, seen or purchased, off the shelf. Literally everything about them is perfect and much about them is unique. They include patented Moser electronics which make them even more unique. Neal Moser is a fantastic luthier. I recommend anyone looking for a unique looking and sounding guitar to purchase you next from Neal Moser, before he decides to stop producing them again.... you won't be sorry.

The Fender David Gilmour Relic was my favorite guitar in 2008. I wasn't sure about the exact replica finish, but when I played it I knew for sure.
