Looking at it, I think it's real. It's a mess though. I'd give the guy maybe $600-750 for it. It will never be a valuable guitar, and it's in a real mess.

It's such a mess that it wouldn't matter to me if it is real or not. What would be the advantage of buying a hacked up piece of junk just because it might be "real?" It will never be worth what a good Gibson is no matter what you do to it.
