Ray,

Your playing has always been an inspiration to me, as has been your professionalism that you've exhibited on a variety of gigs. It's a pleasure finally seeing you start to get the respect your deserve from the musicians of the world, and I look forward to many more years of stealing your licks. :D

That being said... I'm a HUGE King's X fan, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on working with Dug Pinnick on his recent solo album! I had the pleasure of seeing him jam with Mike Mangini in Boston, and it was a trip.

Cheers,
Fitch

I appreciate the kind words Fitch.
I'm one the biggest King's X fans on the planet! I discovered them in the early 90's and became obsessed with their music. I've always been a huge fan of heavy riffs with beautiful harmonies over top of them. Go out and buy as many cds of them as you can... today!! I highly recommend: Dogman, Gretchen Goes To Nebraska, King's X, XV and Ogre Tones.

I met Doug at a NAMM show (big music convention) out here in LA and we stayed in touch. I would invite him to see me play with David Lee Roth when we would hit TX and we would hang out.
I used to joke with him about wanting to just play percussion on one tune of his before I died! So he invited me to play a complete track on his last solo cd "Strum Sum Up". It's on my myspace page right now. He also just sang a beautiful song on Billy Sheehan's new cd called "Holy Cow!" that I played on. It's out in Japan now, will be out here in the states in Feb. Wait til you hear his performance...AMAZING

Can't wait to hear it! I'm a massive King's X fan and am opening for them this weekend in Massachusetts... oh boy.

Thanks, Ray!
