Mr. Luzier.... I figured I'd as your opinion on this. What kinds of things can drummers do to play in a way that doesn't hurt the back? Our drummer is developing pretty severe back problems, some of that is because he used to be overweight. It's getting to the point that after about an hour of playing, he's done and has to lay down. We are pitching in this Christmas for some kind of ergonomic throne for him, but other than that, can you talk about or point to some drumming techniques and postures that can extend the endurance of a drummer who is having lower back pains?

Thanks!

This is one Ray or anyone else who's done more than 3 minutes of exercise, would know the answer to:D

"Some" because he was overweight? Prolly "mostly" because he was overweight:idea:

Tell him to do some sit-ups to firm up his gut...it will take the pressure off his back....If he doesn't do it, tell him to GTFO

I would recommend that he learns some yoga to strengthen his body and
stamina :)
