I don't eat too much fast food... did you see the movie "Super Size Me"?? Yuck!! It's SO bad for you.
I try to eat as healthy as possible on the road. You deal with SO many climate and time changes with little or no sleep. It gets really crazy out there, especially overseas. I go to Japan 2-3 times a year now...way different food than we have here!
Korn's catering is pretty healthy and usually has killer food at the venues. My weakness is espresso and sweets. I eat WAY too much dark chocolate and candy!
In the states I like to stop at Cracker Barrel, which is pretty killer.

Awesome. I know when I do longer studio hauls, I usually end up eating out for that whole week, and feeling pretty shitty for it afterwards. I bet thats a hard thing to do, eat healthy on the road.

I haven't seen that movie - but I did anticipate your response. Our family shoots for organic/natural... may not get 100% But, when you say dark chocolate and espresso, you're hitting my weaknesses too.

Anyone who has not seen that movie has to. Its really good to watch with lots of good info. Once they put a drivethrough in Subway, I will be set. It tastes better anyway.

This is an oddly great question for ANY drummer laying it down in the studio or on tour. Think smart when it comes to nutrition - you know that anything fried is bad for you! If there's a Subway or D'Angelo's, stick to the healthy menu instead of caving for McDonald's or Burger King... your backbeats, high tempos, and ABS will thank you for it!

I say this because when I record, my engineer LOVES eating at Dairy Queen, while I get a healthy sub at Subway. But I never feel like I can't keep up!

Ray... you're the man. I can only imagine the discipline it takes to say "no" to the catering tables at shows... and I should know! I did college booking and hospitality for four years! We fattened up Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain, Reel Big Fish, and Naughty By Nature!

he said their catering is healthy, so why would he say no to it if he's talking about how he eats healthy? ha ha

I wouldn't imagine it being difficult to eat healthy when you have that food provided to you by the venue you're playing at.
