i was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with this mic?i read some reviews on these and decided to go this route because i'm on a VERY tight budget.i'm the rytmn guitarist/lead singer in the very, very beginnings of a band,i've been singing my whole life, this is my very first band though,so i'm not familiar with live sound at all realy...it's just me,a lead guitarist, and a bass player...we need a deummer, and hopefuly a oiano player at some point...anyway,i went with the xm 8500 because of the price point mainly.i have a chaep ass magnavox fro wally world, you practicaly have to give it a hummer to get any sound, and i was going to go the first act route, but if their mics are like their guitars then no,no,no.just looking for some opinions...

found this post and i have to say that the XM8500 is a great mic for the price. countless people have said it is virtually if not surpasses a shure sm58 or sennheiser e835 and is 1/5 the price. no doubt you have already gotten yours and hopefully are satisfied with them. only thing i find wrong with mine are no on/off switch but i haven't had any feedback problems in my living room karaoke setup.

I cannot tell the difference. BTW, I have a good PA system, so the microphone would be the weak link.

Compared to my old SM58, there is no difference I can remember. Other than that the Behringer needs a tiny bit more gain.
