i think this is not the type of song that most on this forum sing normally (me included). anyway just wonder if anyone ever sang this song live and at what type of venus.

i am taking singing lessons now for about 4 months. i've never taken any training before. i have always just tried to sing songs that i viewed as less of a challenge. anyway, im very happy with the progress im making. and, now see how you could spend years training.

anyway. my voice coach has put me on to danny boy which is a big jump for me. but i figure if i can work though it and learn to sing it well, it will take a while but i think so many other bad habits will be corrected and others skills will fall in place.

I sing it upon request and every St.Paddy's Day... if you want a good twist on the tune watch the movie Memphis Belle... Harry Connick(sp?) does a good job on it about 20 minutes into the film.

i like the version by Harry Connick Junior on Memphis Belle. It really is upbeat with a bit of frank senatra feel, i think.

if i can put something together passable. i will sing it at a large family get together soon. i don't know about how to arrange it much without messing it up. for now, i just do a simple 1-4-5 version with my acoutic guitar in E. i think is might be easy over play the guitar. this surely a singers song.

what type of arrangement do you do?

Normally, it is written in C, which means your high note is E and the low A below the staff, That is at both end of my limited range and is the perfect key not only for me but for many singers.
