Hey all. This is my first post in this forum. I play bass in a hard rock cover band and have been singing back-ups since our ryhthm player took off. The other guys say that I am doing a good job but notice my voice is a little "clean" sounding for some of the parts. We have added a little reverb and a little delay and that helps to thicken my voice , but I was wondering if there are any suggestions to add a little "dirt" or "grit" to my voice?

I gotta run some errands, so thanks in advance and I'll check back later today.:thu:

I'll go ahead an re-post a couple of videos from that thread. They may or may not help you, since I'm not a voice teacher by any means, but maybe there's a nugget or two of information that you might be able to use.

Just be "careful now", because like I say in the vids, you can do harm to your voice if you don't learn to do "rasp" in a healthy way.

You should also think about finding a pro teacher who is an expert in rock singing.
