View Full Version : Mounting tube sockets - turrets?
I am thinking about mounting my sockets into turrets, is that possible? PCB sockets I mean. I'm just wondering if the pins are small enough to fit in the turrets, and if there is enough space left between each turret.
My idea is to mount the turrets on one side of the board, and solder the sockets to the other side.

Just curious what your reason is for this?

seems kind of redundant, you want everything running to turrets, not to the PCB pins? Maybe just use tube sockets with solder loops instead...
Of course you can drop the PCB pins into the turrets, there should be plenty of room, although blind soldering them will be a pain
Just curious what your reason is for this?
I can work on the board and finish 90% of the connections out of the chassis. Just more convenient for me... :thu:
There will be no blind solder, since I have access to both sides at all times too

find the gut pics of the mako amp in one fo those gut shot threads in amp forum. I think that would be your best bet if you want turrets around your power tubes.
