I bought this mic over a year ago because I had money on my paypal and it was like 15$ or something haha.

It is a Starpower SP-1

What do you guys know about this mic? I'd just use it to jam with friends as I'm starting the singer's road.

For jamming and casual use, it should be fine. The spec says that it has a neodymium magnet in it, which is fairly cool for a low cost (typically around $15 retail) handheld dynamic mic. If the handling noise is low and the EQ of the mic suits your voice, it could be a great mic for your purpose.

Sweet! Got no idea about the EQ and all that jazz, but I'll give it a try once I find a way to record my voice on ym laptop with that mic haha!

Your mic has a low impedance balanced output (it has an XLR connector on it) so you'll need an XLR to XLR cable to connect to it, then on the other end, you'll need some type of audio interface to connect it to your laptop.

If you're running XP (not Vista) or running a Mac, and you're looking for a simple, low cost ($100) interface, check this out :

Or a step up would be this ($150) :

or this (which includes Cubase LE software) :
